Damon Surzyshyn is proud to be part of TechSport Racing and Subaru America for the 2019 Pirelli World Challenge racing season. TechSport Racing is a championship winning race team that fields cars in Pirelli World Challenge with a full service shop in Long Island, NY.
Damon will be driving a Subaru BRZ as part of the TCA Class in Pirelli World Challenge and completing a full season of races in world famous tracks located all over America. TCA is made up of limited-prep versions of TC cars, with lower horsepower ratings. Both front- and rear-wheel drivetrains are allowed, as are turbocharged and naturally-aspirated vehicles. 160-200 est. HP.
The TCA class has undergone extensive growth over the offseason with an impressive grid of seventeen cars on the grid in the first race of the season held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on March 1 – 3rd.
2018 Team and Manufacturer Champions TechSport Racing and Subaru brought a five-car squad led by sports car standout Nick Wittmer, joined by TCB Champion P.J. Groenke, Ben Bettenhausen, Damon Surzyshyn, and Robert Crocker.
“I think the first race of the season was a good chance for me to learn the ins and outs of the car, and work with the team to figure out the best lines and strategies for the race,” says Damon Surzyshyn. “I am looking forward to the next race event at Virginia International Raceway as a chance to build on what I have learned.”
The second race event of the season will be held at VIR in Alton, Virginia on April 26th – 28th.
