St. Petersburg Grand Prix Cancelled

Fresh off the opening weekend at Circuit of The Americas, TCR and TCA teams and drivers were to compete on the street circuit of St. Petersburg. A 1.8-mile, 14-turn temporary street circuit was created for Rounds 3 and 4 as part of the 16th annual St. Petersburg Grand Prix weekend.

Covid-19 Impact

Rounds 3 and 4 will were first going to proceed in a condensed schedule with only essential personnel permitted on the Grand Prix grounds. As a public safety measure related to the COVID-19 virus, the event would be closed to spectators.

The safety of the race fans, teams, drivers, partners, workers and officials is the top priority of the series, and they will follow the lead of elected officials and public health authorities on the decision to proceed.

Racing was impacted by the Covid-19 crisis

On Friday morning, after careful consideration, the St. Petersburg Grand Prix was cancelled.  After regular communication with health officials, and city administrations regarding COVID-19, the race series organizers made the decision to cancel the event.
