The SRO TC America first race weekend took place at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) March 7 & 8, 2020.
After sustaining damage on a lap 1 incident, PJ Groenke in the #25 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ tS would pull off to the side of the circuit near Turn 12, causing the first and only safety car to be called with 35 minutes remaining.
Damon Surzyshyn, in #24 TechSport Subaru BRZ, suffered a brake failure and collided with a teammate, Joey Essma in the #22 TechSport Subaru BRZ.
All three TechSport cars were unable to finish the race due to various technical problems.
After a dismal start to the race season, TechSport was ready to redeem themselves in Race 2.
PJ Groenke, who started eighth, would fight his through the field to grab the final TCA podium 3rd spot in the #25 TechSport Subaru BRZ tS.
In the TC Class, Joseph Federl and the #23 TechSport Racing Nissan 370Z pulled out a four-second lead and cruise to the class victory.
Damon Surzyshyn, in the #24 TechSport Subaru BRZ tS did not finish, due to a sensor problem with the car.
